Submissions

We welcome original submissions in three categories:

  • Policy notes discuss pertinent policy problems and suggested solutions,
  • Research highlights share the findings of recent technical research (e.g., in peer-reviewed
journals or working papers) in a non-technical manner,
  • Opinions present well-founded arguments on broader conflict and development problems.

Please send your submissions to harun.onder@tamu.edu, specifying the category under which the submission should be considered.

Please include the following with your submission:

1. Draft of your blog (800-1200 words), adhering to the content requirements below.

  • Please proofread for correct spelling and grammar prior to submission
  • Please include a title for your blog
  • References should be hyperlinked within the text
  • Your submission should be a Word document or a Google Doc shared with the email address.
  • Please do not submit your blog as a PDF.

2. Media files to be published alongside the blog.

  • You can submit figures, photos, and infographics that are either original (created by authors) or
royalty free. In either case, the media files should contribute to the blog’s core messages.

3. An author bio (100 words or less) and picture to accompany the blog submission. This should
primarily focus on your current affiliation, position, and a short description of the relevant background
blog. You may include social media handles in your bio.

Writing Tips

  • Target Audience: Write for a broad audience, including policymakers, students, researchers, and
the public. Keep the language accessible and avoid excessive jargon.
  • Engaging Format: Use headings, subheadings, bullet points, and short paragraphs to make the
blog easy to read and digest.

Please Note:

  1. The Development Front Blog editors may edit submitted content. All edits will be sent for review
to the original author prior to posting.
  2. Due to the volume of blog submissions, there may be a delay in response. We appreciate your
    patience!
  3. Please note that, while we appreciate and read every blog submission, not every submission will
    be published.
